The former goalkeeper of Real Madrid and Spain, Iker Casillas, has rejected hints that he is in a relationship with Shakira, the ex-wife of his teammate at “La Roja”, Gerard Pique.
Casillas has recently finalized his divorce from the Spanish sports journalist, Sara Carbonero, but in the meantime there have been rumors that he was now dating the “star” of pop, after her separation from the defender of Barcelona, Pique.
The 41-year-old follows Shakira on Instagram, which has fueled speculation about the nature of their relationship, but Casillas has taken to the social media platform to dismiss rumors that he is now dating the Grammy Award winner.
In a series of images across his Instagram stories, the former goalkeeper posted articles hinting at his new relationship and finally posted an emoji indicating that he doesn’t know where these stories came from.
Shakira and Pique confirmed their split in June, after 12 years together. They met in 2012 when the Spanish defender appeared in the video for Waka Waka (This Time For Africa) and have two children together, Milan, 9, and Sasha, 7.
