Kim Kardashian still doesn’t know if she has officially passed the bar exam, but she’s certain of one thing: divorce law won’t be part of her legal career.
The 45-year-old reality star and entrepreneur, who stars in the Disney+ legal drama All’s Fair as divorce attorney Allura Grant, told the BBC that she is “more passionate about criminal justice and reform work,” adding, “I don’t think I’ll ever work with families.”
Kardashian has been studying law for about six years through an apprenticeship program that allows her to skip a traditional university degree.
Her interest in criminal justice reform began years ago, when she started lobbying for prison reform in the United States and advocating for reduced sentences for first-time offenders.
According to Disney+, All’s Fair has broken records as the most-watched short debut ever on the platform. The show dramatizes the lives of high-profile lawyers who handle the messy divorces of wealthy clients.
Kardashian says the subject of divorce is “something I can relate to,” having witnessed it “in my family and with my parents.” She has gone through three divorces herself — most recently from Kanye West in 2022, after eight years of marriage and four children together.
Still, she emphasizes that the stories in the show are not based on her own life, but that she was “inspired” by her journey toward becoming a lawyer.
