Manchester City Sign Pep Guardiola’s Replacement on a 3-Year Deal

News

Italian coach Enzo Maresca has reportedly signed a three-year contract to become the new manager of Manchester City.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the deal ties the 46-year-old former Chelsea manager to the English club until June 2029.

Maresca is expected to replace Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium. Romano reports that the Italian coach is already heavily involved in shaping Manchester City’s future transfer strategy.

The appointment comes at a crucial time for Manchester City. After a highly competitive domestic season, City finished the 2025/26 Premier League season in second place with 84 points, narrowly missing out on the title to Arsenal.

It is worth noting that Maresca was previously part of City as Guardiola’s assistant coach and knows the club’s mentality well from the Etihad.
