The French representative, Kylian Mbappe, has decided to terminate his contract with PSG and to leave the “Park of the Princes” next summer.
He believes that the situation at PSG is such that he can no longer trust anyone at the club and according to L’Equipe, he is even ready to pay off the remainder of his two-year contract just to leave the club.
The lawyer specializing in labor rights, Jeremy Delatre, believes that Mbappe will not be able to leave for free, but will have to pay a certain amount of compensation.
“Because these are short contracts, they are legally binding. In his case it must be proved that his employer made a grave mistake, a simple one is not enough. You do not resign or terminate the contract before its term. You can only terminate it if there is a judgment for one of the two parties and the other party must pay damages. For the employee, these are the remaining wages until the end of the contract, but also the possible bonuses he received. It is almost the same for the employer, and in some cases he will have to pay a higher amount. “This compensation is equal to the amount of the transfer when the player leaves the club before the contract expires,” said Delatre.
Last summer, Mbappe signed a new contract with PSG, according to which he earns 750,000 euros per week. If he is determined to leave the “Park of the Princes”, it could represent a huge financial blow for the player because apart from the big salary, he received about 125 million euros as a bonus for signing the contract.
The lawyer also believes that a possible early departure from PSG could cause problems for Mbappe as they would think carefully about whether it is worthwhile to spend a huge amount of money on a player who often changes his mood.
