Muller: In Germany, we don’t believe in “Superstars”, the team comes first

There are not a few cases when individuals, those who stand out the most in a team considered as Superstars, start to gain privileges over the rest of the footballers, while in many cases the leaders or the coach forgive them the freedom on the field to go out from certain schemes.

However, this is not the case of Bayern Munich and especially German football, as Thomas Muller says that in Germany they do not believe in Superstars.

“In Germany, we don’t believe in superstars, as children we learn to play for the team. We don’t mind individual brilliance and that’s one of the reasons why you won’t see many German players win the Ballon d’Or. But, on the other hand, this is also one of the reasons why Germany has won four World Cups”, Muller emphasizes.
