There are still three days left until the presidential elections in Real Madrid end, if Florentino Pérez wins, the new coach of “Los Blancos” is expected to be José Mourinho.
It has long been reported that the “Special One” has reached an agreement to return to the “Santiago Bernabéu” and that the construction magnate is only waiting for a new mandate.
Now this has been officially confirmed by Benfica, who have announced that Real Madrid – in the event of Pérez’s victory – will pay 15 million euros for the release of the Portuguese coach.
The Lisbon club, as a company with shares traded on the Portuguese stock exchange, has a legal obligation to inform the public about such financial transactions.
Pérez, meanwhile, “revealed” the agreement with Mourinho on Wednesday night through a short video published on social media by his campaign headquarters.

Mourinho’s release clause has been one of the most talked about points in his possible return to Madrid. Initially, the figure was rumored to be 7 million euros, but due to the delay in the completion of the deal due to the announcement of the elections, Real Madrid – if Pérez wins – will have to pay more than double to hire the coach.
According to reports, following Mourinho’s departure, Marco Silva will be his successor at Benfica.
