Inter Miami CF has announced that coach Javier Mascherano has decided to leave his position for personal reasons, ending his tenure as head coach.

In his farewell message, Mascherano thanked the club for their trust, the staff and especially the players for the unforgettable moments, as well as the fans and “La Familia”, emphasizing that he will always remember the “first star” he won with Inter Miami.

Managing owner Jorge Mas stated that Mascherano will forever remain part of the club’s history, praising him for his contribution to winning the MLS Cup and for his example of dedication in his daily work, while wishing him success in his personal and professional future.

In his first season as coach, Mascherano led Inter Miami to one of the most successful campaigns in the club’s history, winning two major trophies, including the club’s first MLS Cup and the Eastern Conference title, as well as recording a record-breaking season in 2025 with 101 goals in total (regular season and playoffs) and 58 appearances in all competitions.

On the international stage, Inter Miami made history at the 2025 Club World Cup, becoming the first MLS team to reach the knockout stage.

For the upcoming matches, Guillermo Hoyos will take charge of the first team.
