Liverpool are set to part ways with Dutch manager Arne Slot with immediate effect following a review at the end of the season.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Slot will leave the club after board-level discussions concluded that the current project would be terminated prematurely, thus ending his stay at Anfield.
Slot took over from Jurgen Klopp on 1 June 2024 and won the Premier League in his first season. However, his second season proved more difficult, with the Reds failing to challenge for the title and struggling with inconsistent performances and poor results.
The Anfield club ultimately finished fifth in the table and ended the season without any trophies, prompting the board to react.
Romano adds that former Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola is emerging as the leading candidate to take over as Liverpool’s next manager.
