Manchester City have reportedly reached an agreement in principle with Italian coach Enzo Maresca, according to renowned journalist Nicolo Schira.
As it is known, the parties have agreed on a contract until the summer of 2028, with the possibility of extending for another season. However, the final move is said to depend entirely on the decision of current coach Pep Guardiola.
In the 2025/26 Premier League season, Manchester City currently holds second place in the table, with 77 points accumulated from 36 matches.
Earlier this season, City also won the FA Cup under Guardiola.
The Catalan coach is reportedly spending his final year in England, as he wants to rest for a period before returning to manage a national team.
He has won every trophy possible, so retirement would not be a surprising decision.
