Rumour: Antonio Conte to Leave Napoli

News

Coach Antonio Conte has hinted that he could leave Napoli at the end of the season, despite leading the team back to the Champions League.

Napoli secured their place in the top four with a 3-0 away win over Pisa, a match that was decided by early goals, with Rasmus Hojlund also scoring in extra time.

However, attention quickly shifted away from the pitch after Conte’s statements, which gave strong signals of a possible departure.

Speaking after the meeting, the Napoli coach focused on his period in charge of the team and his relationship with the club’s leaders.

“I have a friendly relationship with the President. He came to Napoli at a time of extreme difficulty.”

“I had promised that, when my experience at Napoli ended, I would leave behind a solid and ambitious group.”

Conte also emphasized the competitive mentality he has attempted to impose on the team during his tenure.

“We may not be the strongest team, but we have to become the toughest. Napoli has to cause problems for Juventus, Milan and Inter every year.”

The Italian seemed to open the door to leaving even more as he spoke about the future and talks with president Aurelio De Laurentiis.

“The president has known my thoughts for a month. We talked about the positive things and the less positive things.”

“I will always be grateful that I was given the opportunity to lead a club like this.”
