The company DIS filed a lawsuit against Neymar, his parents, Barcelona, Santos, the former presidents of the Catalan club Josep Maria Bartomeu and Sandro Rosell, as well as the former first man of Santos Odile Rodriguez.

This company owned 40 percent of Neymar’s rights while he was playing for Santos. DIS claims that the sale of Neymar to the Catalan club in 2013 was significantly below the Brazilian footballer’s market value.

“Neymar’s rights were not sold to the highest bidder. There were clubs that offered up to 60 million euros,” said the DIS company’s lawyer, Paulo Nasser.

In 2013, Barcelona officially announced that Neymar’s transfer to the Catalan club amounted to 57.1 million euros, of which 40 million were paid to the Brazilian footballer’s family.

DIS received 40 percent of the remaining €17.1 million paid to Santos.

On Monday, a trial will begin in Barcelona over potential fraud and corruption in the transfer of Neymar to the Catalan club in 2013.

Spain’s national court began hearing the case in November 2016, but the charges were later dropped due to a lack of evidence. The DIS company filed an appeal for consideration of the case because they claim that most of the transaction amount was hidden.
