The Brazilian midfielder, who lifted five Champions League trophies during a nine-year spell in Madrid, will join Erik ten Hag’s side after the Reds reached an agreement in principle for his transfer.

Casemiro will sign a four-year contract with United worth over €400,000 a week, according to The Sun, which suggests he will become the third highest paid player at Old Trafford.
The 30-year-old has already written a farewell message to Los Blancos and their supporters on Instagram. “I lived the most wonderful story”, he wrote. “I hope to come back one day. It will always be my home.”

And on Friday night, midfield duo Luka Modric and Toni Kroos penned emotional farewell letters to the Brazilian as he prepares to embark on a new challenge.

Meanwhile, Fede Valverde’s girlfriend had a different attitude towards his departure.
In what is clearly more of a social gesture, Mina Bonino made a desperate plea to Casemiro in a cheeky WhatsApp message.

She wrote: “Gil de mierda! No te vayas”, which translates to “B**h d***i! Don’t leave.”
