Catalan media reports that there was a heavy verbal duel between Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez and his former teammate Gerard Pique who is currently the oldest in the squad at 35 years old.
Reportedly, the stopper complained in front of everyone in the dressing room about the little playing time he is getting this season and was quite vocal in his complaints. That annoyed Xavi, who publicly “promised” Pique that he would play even less in the future.
The question is whether he can do less than this so far, because the 35-year-old Barcelona player has played in only two out of eight games this season. He played all 90 minutes in the visit to Cadiz, and 45 minutes was on the field against Viktoria Plzen in the first round of the Champions League.
