Barcelona talent Lamine Yamal has sent a clear and determined message ahead of the crucial Champions League quarter-final clash against Atletico Madrid.
After losing 0-2 in the first leg at home, Barcelona travels to Madrid with a tough task to overturn the result and secure qualification for the semi-finals.
Yamal stressed that the team is aware of the importance of the match, but the motivation inside the locker room is maximum.
“Yes, we want to avoid what happened in the Cup, but not only for that reason. Barcelona should have been in the Champions League for years.”
“We have a great desire to qualify. We are Barcelona and we want to go further. We believe we can do it and we will give everything to achieve it,” said Yamal.
He added that the team must maintain its identity and not panic despite the disadvantage.
“I think we have to play as we know how, with intensity, but without losing our style. That’s the key. We shouldn’t see the upset as a miracle,” he underlined.
Barcelona are looking for a big performance in Madrid to keep the European dream alive, while Yamal remains one of the strongest voices of optimism in the Catalan camp.
