Former England football captain David Beckham has been awarded the prestigious knighthood by King Charles III during a grand ceremony at Windsor Castle.

At the age of 50, Beckham received the title of “Sir” in recognition of his outstanding contributions to sports and charity, calling it “the proudest moment of my life.”

The football legend was accompanied by his wife, Victoria Beckham, who also designed the elegant suit he wore for the occasion. Beckham revealed that his inspiration for the outfit came directly from King Charles himself.

“He’s probably the most stylish man I know,” Beckham said. “I’ve seen photos of him as a young man wearing ceremonial suits and thought, yes — that’s exactly how I want to dress. I showed Victoria, and she brought it to life beautifully.”

Beckham described the honor as something “beyond any dream.”

“A boy from East End London, born in Leytonstone, being honored by His Majesty at Windsor Castle — it’s an unforgettable moment. Without a doubt, the proudest of my life,” he said.

Beyond his illustrious football career, Beckham has long been committed to humanitarian work, supporting numerous global causes. Since 2005, he has served as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, contributing to dozens of international charity campaigns.

“Since I was 17, I’ve realized that my voice can make a difference. It’s a powerful tool to help others. Everything I do comes from love — not because I have to, but because it matters,” Beckham added.

With this honor, David Beckham joins the ranks of Britain’s most distinguished figures, officially becoming Sir David Beckham, celebrated for his legacy in both sports and public service.
