Kate Middleton and Jessie J Share Emotional Moment as They Open Up About Their Cancer Journeys
Princess Kate Middleton and British pop star Jessie J shared a deeply emotional moment at the Royal Variety Performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall on November 19. The two women embraced warmly after speaking about their personal experiences with cancer.
Jessie J later explained that the hug came from a place of understanding and compassion.
“My mom recently went through cancer, and I just wanted to hug her,” she told The Independent.
Princess Kate went public with her cancer diagnosis in March 2024 and revealed that she had begun preventative chemotherapy.
In June of the same year, Jessie J announced that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent a mastectomy and decided to share her journey openly with fans on social media.
The Royal Variety Performance was a significant moment for Kate and her husband, Prince William, 43, as it marked their first red carpet appearance in two years.
Jessie J also spoke about the challenges of dealing with illness under public scrutiny.
“We both understand how hard this is, especially when you are going through it in front of the world,” she said.
The singer has been candid about the changes she has experienced since her surgery. Recently, she posted a video explaining that her hair has started to fall out following the breast cancer operation.
