Another Online Scam Victim British Widow Loses All Her Savings After Believing She Was in a Relationship with Actor Jason Momoa

A new case of online fraud has emerged in the United Kingdom, where a widowed woman lost her entire life savings and even her home after being convinced she was in a romantic relationship with Hollywood actor Jason Momoa. The scam was carried out using AI generated videos and ultimately cost her 570,000 euros, according to LADbible.

The woman whose identity remains undisclosed for privacy reasons began following a Jason Momoa fan page shortly after the death of her husband with whom she had spent 50 years. Not long after she suddenly received a message she believed was from the actor himself.

Scammers used AI created videos to convince her that she and the 46 year old star who divorced Lisa Bonet in 2024 were meant to be together. Once they gained her trust the demands for money began.

The fake “Jason Momoa” claimed he urgently needed money for several film projects and asked her for 570,000 euros convincing her he was building their dream home in Hawaii. Fully believing in the “love story” the widow sold her home in Cambridgeshire to raise the requested amount.

But as soon as she sent the money the mysterious admirer disappeared without a trace. Police in Cambridgeshire confirmed the case saying This case may sound unbelievable but it is entirely real and has left a vulnerable woman homeless.

This is not the first time the actor’s image has been used for such scams. A grandmother from Newcastle also fell victim to a similar scheme losing 92,800 euros. She initially sent money for airline tickets so the “actor” could visit her, but the demands continued.

“Next came gifts for his daughter” the scammed woman recounted.

“I spoke to someone who I believed was his daughter and was told she was turning 15. They said he was struggling with his ex wife to keep the house and that a marriage certificate was needed to secure it. I was very naive and I paid” she added.
