Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson has opened up about why she and her husband, Colin Jost, chose to keep their son’s name private for a long time.
Appearing on the Today show, Johansson explained that the decision was driven by a desire to avoid negative comments and awkward reactions to the name Cosmo, which some people might find unusual.
“I didn’t want weird facial expressions. You know when you tell someone a name and they make that forced face like, ‘Oh… that’s interesting,’” the actress said.
Johansson, who is also the mother of an 11-year-old daughter, Rose, from her previous marriage to Romain Dauriac, added that during her pregnancy she simply didn’t have the patience to deal with other people’s opinions.
She also revealed that her mother loved the name.
“My mom really liked it. She said, ‘Oh, my third-grade crush was named Cosmo.’ That meant a lot to her,” Johansson shared.
Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost made their first public appearance as a couple in 2017 and have since become one of Hollywood’s favorite pairs.
