“The Children Mean Everything to Him”: David and Victoria Beckham Keep Pushing for a Reunion with Brooklyn and His Wife

News

David and Victoria Beckham have reportedly been making repeated efforts to heal their strained relationship with their eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, and his wife Nicola Peltz, but their attempts have so far been met with resistance.

According to a source close to the family who spoke to People magazine, the former football star and fashion designer have “consistently asked Brooklyn and Nicola to meet and talk so they can move forward.” However, the same source claims that Brooklyn and Nicola now insist on communicating only through a lawyer.

“David adores his children. They mean everything to him,” the source said, referring to Brooklyn (26), his brothers Romeo (23) and Cruz (20), and his younger sister Harper (14).

Multiple sources say the Beckhams have been trying for years to repair their relationship with Brooklyn and Nicola, whom he married in 2022. The tension reportedly began around the time of the wedding, allegedly over disagreements related to Nicola’s wedding dress.

Despite the ongoing conflict, the source insists that Brooklyn and Nicola have always been invited to family events, both private and public. This reportedly included the ceremony in which King Charles III awarded David Beckham a knighthood on November 4 for his contributions to sport and humanitarian work.

Representatives for Brooklyn declined to comment, while representatives for David and Victoria Beckham did not immediately respond to media inquiries.

British outlet The Sun reported on January 8 that Brooklyn had sent his parents a legal notice stating they could only contact him through a lawyer and were not permitted to tag him on social media. According to the report, Victoria allegedly breached this request by liking an Instagram post, after which Brooklyn blocked both parents on social platforms.

Since December, Brooklyn, Nicola, David, and Victoria have unfollowed each other on Instagram. Brooklyn and Nicola have also unfollowed Romeo and Cruz. Cruz later addressed the situation on Instagram Stories, saying his parents “would never unfollow their son” and that they “woke up blocked,” just like he did.

Brooklyn and Nicola spent Christmas away from the Beckham family. On December 26, Nicola shared photos with Brooklyn and her parents, Nelson Peltz and Claudia Heffner Peltz, writing: “Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year full of love, peace, and happiness.”

On New Year’s Eve, David Beckham posted a recap of his favorite moments from 2025, featuring Romeo, Cruz, and Harper—but noticeably not Brooklyn. He later shared photos of his eldest son on his Instagram Story, hinting that despite the distance, the door may not be fully closed.

For now, the Beckham family rift remains unresolved, with David and Victoria reportedly still hoping for a face-to-face conversation that could finally bring reconciliation.
