Kelly Osbourne fires back at critics after BRIT Awards tribute to her father: My body is not up for debate

Kelly Osbourne has strongly responded to online criticism about her appearance following an emotional moment at the BRIT Awards, where she honored her late father Ozzy Osbourne.

The television personality and daughter of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne attended the ceremony in Manchester to accept the Lifetime Achievement award on behalf of her father, who passed away in July. While the tribute was meant to celebrate Ozzy’s legacy, Kelly quickly became the target of harsh online comments about her appearance.

Taking to Instagram Stories, she addressed the criticism and called out those spreading negativity, describing the trolls as cruel. She also shared a supportive message from Mia Tyler, daughter of Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, emphasizing the importance of compassion and respect.

“Public grief is not public property. Grief can change a person. That does not make their body a topic for debate,” the message read. “Before commenting on someone’s body, consider the possibility that they may be carrying something heavier than your opinion. If you have the energy to comment, you have the energy to be kind.”

Kelly added that the attacks against her reveal more about the critics than about her.

“Attacking me when I’m down, questioning my grief and spreading my struggles as gossip does not show strength. It shows a deep lack of character. I will not allow myself to be dehumanized in this way,” she wrote.

Osbourne has previously faced scrutiny over her weight loss, though she has repeatedly denied using weight loss injections.

At the BRIT Awards, she appeared wearing a black dress and jacket, while her mother Sharon Osbourne opted for a classic three piece black suit.

In recent months, Kelly’s appearances at high profile events such as London Fashion Week have sparked discussions about her health after she appeared noticeably slimmer. Despite the criticism, she continues to show resilience while publicly honoring the legacy of her father.
