Tickets to meet Meghan Markle at an upcoming event in Australia are drawing attention online after prices for the exclusive gathering were revealed.
The Duchess of Sussex is expected to travel to Sydney next month alongside Prince Harry for several public engagements. Meghan will be the guest of honor at a three day women’s event where she will also deliver a speech during a gala dinner.
However, the ticket prices for the event have sparked debate on social media.
The basic weekend package costs around 1665 euros and includes accommodation at a seaside hotel, as well as access to activities such as yoga sessions, meditation, and social events.
A VIP package, priced at about 1973 euros, offers front row seats at the gala dinner and the chance to take part in a group photo with Meghan. Participants who want to appear in the photo must pay an additional fee of approximately 308 euros per person.
Meanwhile, media outlets have also revisited a claim from the book Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown by journalist Valentine Low. The book alleges that during the couple’s first royal tour of Australia in 2018, Meghan reportedly expressed surprise that members of the royal family were not paid for meeting the public.
During the upcoming trip, Prince Harry is also expected to attend several events. He will reportedly speak at a mental health summit in Melbourne, where ticket prices start at about 1219 euros. Proceeds from that event will go to the charity Lifeline Australia.
The high ticket prices for the Sydney event have sparked mixed reactions online, with some fans excited for the opportunity to meet Meghan, while others question whether the experience is worth the cost.
