“Caught with Drugs?” – Hande Erçel Faces Prosecutor, Undergoes Blood Tests in Istanbul
Turkish actress Hande Erçel has become part of a police investigation in Turkey over a suspected drug-related case, sparking widespread media and social media attention.
According to reports, a warrant was issued against her, after which she returned to Istanbul and appeared at the Çaglayan Courthouse to give testimony before the prosecutor. After the procedure, the actress was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute (ATK) for toxicology testing.
Sources close to the investigation said authorities collected blood and hair samples as part of a broader probe conducted by the Istanbul Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The investigation involves a total of 16 suspects, who are believed to have either possessed drugs for personal use or facilitated their use. Among those implicated are other prominent public figures, including former presidents of Beşiktaş and Galatasaray, businessmen Hakan Sabancı and Kerim Sabancı, model Didem Soydan, and TV presenter Güzide Duran.
Meanwhile, the court has ordered some suspects, including Koray Serenli, Onur Talay, Sezgin Koysuren, and Mustafa Tari, to remain in custody pending trial. Tugce Ozbudak was placed under judicial supervision with travel restrictions and house arrest.
The police operation was carried out across 16 locations in Istanbul, leading to the arrest of 14 suspects, with warrants issued for two others. Investigations are ongoing, and authorities are expected to release further details in the coming days.
