Man United Open to The Return of Rashford

News

Manager Michael Carrick has revealed that Manchester United have yet to make a decision on Marcus Rashford’s future for next season, leaving the door open for his return.

Rashford had lost his place at Old Trafford under Carrick’s predecessor, Ruben Amorim, becoming part of the so-called “excluded group”.

He spent the second half of last season at Aston Villa and is currently on loan for a season at Barcelona, where he has made quite good appearances.

Barcelona have until June 15 to decide whether to activate the €30m buyout clause, while Rashford, who has two years left on his contract with United, remains open to a return to his boyhood club.

“There are decisions that need to be made on some issues and of course Marcus is in that situation.”

“But at this moment, nothing has been decided.”

“It will be decided, because it has to happen at a certain point, but for now there is nothing to say.”

Carrick, Rashford’s former teammate, has been in caretaker charge of United since January and remains one of the candidates to take over permanently at the end of the season.

Although his future is still unclear, Carrick is aiming to get the most out of the team this season, with United battling for a Champions League place.

“Whoever is here, I want to work with them and help them improve.”

“At the moment, this is the team we have. There are players on loan and whatever happens later will happen.”

“But of course, as a coach and team leader, we want to get the best out of everyone.”

Manchester United are currently third in the table, seven points ahead of sixth-placed Chelsea, a team they will face at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
