Bruno Fernandes has been named the Premier League’s ‘Player of the Season’ after a brilliant season with Manchester United.
The Portuguese has been at the heart of another strong season for United, helping the team secure third place in the league and qualification for next season’s Champions League.
Bruno has made 34 league appearances this season, contributing eight goals while consistently leading United’s attacking play from midfield.
He has also achieved a significant individual milestone by equalling the Premier League record for assists in a single season, level with Kevin De Bruyne and Thierry Henry on 20 assists each.
With one match remaining against Brighton, Fernandes remains in contention to set a new record and finish the season at the top of the assist list.
Fernandes topped an eight-man shortlist that included Arsenal players Gabriel Magalhaes, David Raya and Declan Rice, Manchester City duo Erling Haaland and Antoine Semenyo, Brentford striker Igor Thiago and Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White.
