News

The owner and president of Italian club Napoli, Aurelio De Laurentiis, has reportedly rejected a very large offer from an American billionaire who was interested in buying the Neapolitan club.

According to Corriere dello Sport , Napoli owner De Laurentiis has rejected a €2 billion offer from an American firm to buy the Italian club.

The proposal was reportedly made by a group led by Matt Rizzetta, President of Serie C team Campobasso and Napoli Basket, as well as Founder and Managing Partner of private equity firm Underdog Global Partners.

However, negotiations between the Partenopei club and Rizzetta’s team proved futile and were subsequently suspended.

De Laurentiis is not willing to sell the Italian giants and wants to remain at the helm of the club, as the club will celebrate its 100th anniversary next year.

Otherwise, the value of the Napoli club is estimated to be 800 million euros along with assets, while the team alone is valued at around 400 million euros.
