UEFA has named Paris Saint-Germain star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as the 2025/26 Champions League “Player of the Season” after crucial performances in the French champions’ journey to the trophy.
According to UEFA, the award was given by the UEFA Technical Observer Group, which assessed the Georgian winger’s impact throughout the tournament.
Kvaratskhelia finished the Champions League season with outstanding statistics: 16 appearances, 1,141 minutes, 10 goals and 6 assists. He also covered 124.17 km during matches, while his maximum recorded speed was 33.7 km/h.
UEFA emphasizes that Kvaratskhelia was among the key players in PSG’s triumph, which won the second consecutive title in this competition, excelling especially on the left wing with his performances.
He also played an important role in the final against Arsenal, when he was brought down in the area by Cristhian Mosquera, winning the penalty that Ousmane Dembélé converted to equalize 1-1.
One of Kvaratskhelia’s most notable performances came in the memorable semi-final against Bayern Munich, in the first leg won 5-4, where he scored twice, first with a beautiful shot to make it 1-1, and then with a powerful shot in the second half to complete the double.
