Chelsea are preparing for a crucial summer transfer window under new manager Xabi Alonso as they aim to build a stronger and more balanced squad without European football next season.
According to The Athletic, the Blues are targeting at least two experienced and first-team-ready players, including a centre-back and a versatile striker.
They have shown interest in Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers and have made enquiries for Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konate, while a deal for Strasbourg’s Valentin Barco is said to have already been reached.
Chelsea have signed three new players: Geovany Quenda from Sporting Lisbon for £40m, striker Emmanuel Emegha and goalkeeper Mike Penders.
Possible departures include Marc Cucurella, with several centre-backs also available, as the club look to improve the squad.
