Ousmane Dembele’s reaction to Alphonso Davies’ penalty decision has now gone viral and taken social media by storm.
In a spectacular Champions League semi-final match, Paris Saint-Germain defeated Bayern Munich 5-4 at Parc des Princes.
The spectators witnessed an incredible duel full of comebacks and twists, which made history with five goals in the first half. The Parisians scored twice each through Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Dembele, while Joao Neves added a goal. Harry Kane, Michael Olise, Dayot Upamecano and Luis Diaz scored for the Bavarians.
The best player in the Parisian spectacle was Dembele. The PSG striker and current Ballon d’Or winner scored two goals and assisted another. Dembele scored the second goal from the penalty spot to give the home team a 3-2 lead.
The penalty was awarded at the end of the first half when Dembele, attempting to cross into the penalty area, the ball ended up in the hands of Alphonse Davies.
Referee Sandro Scharer didn’t react immediately, but after looking at the VAR, he showed a penalty for Bayern. Davies went berserk and tried to explain that the ball had hit his hand.
When he saw that the referee was not forgiving him, the Bayern player approached Dembele, who was about to take the penalty, and assured him of his innocence, asking for compassion and understanding.
However, he received a mocking look and eye roll from Dembele. His face, as Davies swore his innocence, went viral. Especially after Dembele immediately ran in and scored from the penalty spot.
Football fans on social media are pointing out that Dembele’s look at Davies reminds them of the famous meme known as “Bitch please.”
