Kasper Schmeichel is literally the biggest legend, perhaps in the history of Leicester, but he will leave the club this summer.
It sounds incredible that Leicester are giving up on the captain, who arrived at the club in 2011.
The Dane grew up at Manchester City, where his father, the legendary Peter, defended, but did not get a chance at the Etihad, so he went on loan in the lower leagues, and excelled at Notts County, from where Leeds brought him in 2010. After one season at Leeds, Leicester called and history began.
Leicester managed to return to the Premier League thanks to Schmeichel, in the 2014/15 season, and already in the next season, Leicester experienced the most beautiful fairy tale with him in goal – they won the title.
He is now 35 years old, and Nice is offering him a three-year contract, and it is hard to refuse.
In the best seasons of Leicester’s goal, in the past years, Leicester had offers for Schmeichel, after the Premier League title, many saw him in the goal of a bigger club in the Premier League, but the Dane did not think of leaving until today.
Now he’s nearing the end of his career, so it seems he can’t turn down a three-year contract. All in all, this is definitely one of the strangest goalkeeper transfers
