FC Barcelona have reportedly received a boost in the race for Julián Álvarez after another European giant decided to withdraw from pursuing the striker.
The club stepping away is believed to be Paris Saint-Germain, leaving Barcelona with less competition in the battle for the Argentine forward.
Barcelona remain very interested in Álvarez and see him as a long-term attacking leader, especially with uncertainty surrounding the future of Robert Lewandowski.
Although a transfer would still be difficult financially, the reduced competition is viewed as a major positive inside the club.
For now, Barcelona’s hopes of landing Álvarez are growing stronger.
