Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has praised Khvicha Kvaratskhelia after the French champions’ dramatic win over Bayern Munich secured their place in the Champions League final.

PSG closed the semi-final with an aggregate score of 6-5, after a strong and highly emotional match, eliminating the Bavarian team and qualifying for the biggest match of the season in Europe.

Speaking after the match, Al-Khelaifi highlighted the team’s fighting spirit and singled out Kvaratskhelia for his sacrifice in the final minutes.

“Kvaratskhelia was dead, but he continued to fight against Bayern,” said the PSG president.

“We have a great team. A young team that fights together. The star is the team. Everyone fights.”

Al-Khelaifi also had great words for coach Luis Enrique, as well as for PSG fans, who he said pushed the team towards this emotional success.

“Look at the last minutes, Kvara was ‘dead’, but he runs, he fights. This is football. This is Paris Saint-Germain. This is the DNA of PSG.”

“We have the best coach in the world. The best fans too. I only listened to them. It’s magical. It’s for them, because they have always believed in us.”
