England captain Harry Kane has raised some concerns among fans after their 4-2 victory over Croatia in the opening match of the 2026 World Cup.
The English striker was one of the protagonists of the match, scoring a goal from the penalty spot.
Kane converted at the second attempt after referee Clement Turpin ordered the penalty to be retaken due to a foul by Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic.
After the match, the 32-year-old was seen approaching his family in the stands of AT&T Stadium in Dallas, his left leg bandaged. The footage immediately went viral and raised doubts about the England striker’s fitness.
Kane played the full 90 minutes without being substituted, which surprised some fans given the intensity of the match.
However, initial indications suggest that the leg bandage is more related to fatigue and the blows received during the match than to a serious injury.
Even coach Thomas Tuchel did not give a clear answer about the player’s condition.
“We’ll see. I hope it goes well. We’re all tired, but I liked seeing exhausted players in the locker room,” the German coach declared after the match.
England will face Ghana in their second group match on Tuesday, and it remains to be seen whether Kane will be fully fit for the next challenge.
At the moment, there are no reports of a serious injury, but the Three Lions’ medical staff is expected to closely monitor the captain’s condition.
