Kylian Mbappe has categorically rejected claims of confusion surrounding his recent knee injury, insisting that reports that the wrong knee was examined “are not true”.
Speaking ahead of France’s friendly against Brazil, the striker addressed the controversy that had caused widespread debate and also involved Real Madrid’s medical staff.
“The information that they examined the wrong knee is not true. I may be indirectly responsible. When you don’t communicate, everyone benefits from the situation.”
The 2018 World Cup winner admitted that the situation may have escalated due to a lack of clarity, but stressed that communication between him and the club has generally been good.
“We have always had very clear communication with Real Madrid,” he added, stressing that his focus remains on the present and not on past issues.
“When I got injured at the beginning of January, I wasn’t there. Everyone thought I was the only option, but it wasn’t.”
Positive news for the club and the national team is the fact that the French captain confirmed that he is now fully fit and without any concerns.
“I’m happy that I feel good in both knees. I’m very happy to be here, fit and healthy,” Mbappe concluded.
