Lost Another Trophy – Ronaldo Doesn’t Celebrate 2nd Place with Al-Nassr

News

Cristiano Ronaldo surprised fans by not showing up for the medal ceremony after losing in the second-tier final of the Asian Champions League.

Ronaldo suffered his fourth consecutive defeat with Al-Nassr in the four finals he has played in. It is the lowest level of the Champions League in Asia, and the winner is Gamba Osaka, who celebrated with a 1-0 score in Riyadh.

The only goal of the match for the Japanese team was scored by Deniz Hummet in the 30th minute of the match. The Saudi team then tried with all their might to equalize and go to extra time, but failed and the trophy went to Japan.

After the match, Ronaldo was filmed looking visibly distressed in the centre of the pitch. However, when all the players left for the medal ceremony, the Portuguese headed for the dressing room.

Apparently, the Portuguese veteran was not interested in the silver medal at the second level of the competition in Asia, so he did not want to attend the medal ceremony.

Thus, Ronaldo remains on only one trophy since arriving in Saudi Arabia, but even this trophy does not officially count because it is an Arab Club Champions competition that is not recognized by FIFA, which Ronaldo won in 2023.

Ronaldo’s last official trophy in continental football dates back to 2018, when he helped Real Madrid win the Champions League during the 2017/18 season. This title was the fifth Champions League trophy of his career.
