Manchester United and Atalanta have reportedly agreed a fee for Brazilian midfielder Ederson, which could potentially raise up to €53m for the La Dea club.
An exclusive from SportItalia claims that United and Atalanta have “completed” negotiations and that Ederson’s permanent transfer is just one step away.
Friday’s report claims that United are willing to pay a guaranteed fee of €48m plus up to €5m in bonuses for a potential total of €53m.
Other media suggest the deal is for €45m plus €5m in bonuses for a total package of €50m.
If this is confirmed, Atalanta will make one of the most expensive sales in their history, with the club’s most expensive departure from Bergamo remaining that of Rasmus Hojlund to Manchester United in a deal reported to be worth €75m plus up to €10m in bonuses.
Mateo Retegui joined Al-Qadsiah in a €62m deal last summer, Teun Koopmeiners joined Juventus for a total of €58m and Cristian Romero joined Tottenham for around €53m.
Ederson has 30 Serie A appearances this season with two goals and one assist, in addition to another goal and assist from his nine Champions League appearances this season.
He has been part of Atalanta for the last four seasons, after joining the club from Salernitana in 2022.
