Mourinho begins work to bring Inter star to Real Madrid

Jose Mourinho is continuing his revolution at Real Madrid, showing no hesitation in making major changes to the defensive department.

The Madrid club’s defense has already undergone significant transformations during the summer transfer window, following the arrivals of Marc Cucurella, Denzel Dumfries and Ibrahima Konate.

However, the Portuguese coach doesn’t seem satisfied with just these reinforcements. According to journalist Miguel Serrano, Mourinho has identified his main target for the defense and that is Inter central defender Alessandro Bastoni.

The 27-year-old Italian is considered one of the best defenders in Europe and has long attracted the interest of big clubs.

Earlier, Bastoni was one of Barcelona’s main targets, but the team led by Hansi Flick gradually withdrew from the race for his transfer.

However, his transfer is not expected to be easy. Inter president Giuseppe Marotta has made it clear that the club has no intention of giving up one of the pillars of the team.

“He has never asked to leave. He is very happy here and we are not a club that sells its players,” Marotta declared.

Despite this stance, Real Madrid remain interested in the Italian international and could try with a significant offer in the coming weeks.

According to reports, Bastoni’s transfer fee is estimated at between 50 and 70 million euros, an amount that does not pose a major problem for the Spanish giant if Mourinho decides to make the Italian an absolute priority for the defensive department.
