A powerful earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale struck the sea south of Methoni, Greece, on Sunday evening. Greek media reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was located 18 km south-southwest of Methoni, with a focal depth of 9 km.
The earthquake was felt in Kalamata and other areas of Messinia.
