PSG Demolish Liverpool – French Giants Move To The Semi-Final

News

Paris Saint-Germain have marched into the Champions League semifinals with a commanding 4–0 aggregate victory over Liverpool.

Following their 2–0 win in Paris last week, the reigning European champions repeated the scoreline at Anfield tonight, winning 2–0 to extinguish any hopes of a Merseyside comeback.

Tense opening

Liverpool started the match with trademark energy, backed by a roaring home crowd, but their momentum was hindered by a disciplined PSG defense. The Reds suffered an early blow when Hugo Ekitike was forced off with an injury just 30 minutes in, leading to the introduction of Mohamed Salah. Despite sustained pressure from the hosts, including a Virgil van Dijk effort cleared off the line, the first half ended goalless.

Dembele double

The second half saw Liverpool continue to chase the game, even having a penalty award overturned by VAR after a challenge on Alexis Mac Allister. However, PSG’s clinical nature on the counter eventually told.

Ousmane Dembele broke the deadlock in the 80th minute, silencing Anfield with a powerful strike to effectively end the contest. In stoppage time, Dembele added a second, finishing a sharp pass from Bradley Barcola to put the finishing touches on a professional performance.

Semifinal bound

Arne Slot’s side fought until the final whistle, but the holders’ defensive resilience proved too much to break down. Luis Enrique’s men controlled the final stages with ease, keeping their second consecutive clean sheet in the tie.

PSG now advance to the final four, where they are set to face either Bayern Munich or Real Madrid.
