Real Madrid have rejected a player’s request to terminate his contract by mutual consent, in order for him to accelerate his departure from the club this summer.
Los Blancos are set to undergo major changes to their squad following Jose Mourinho’s return to the bench. As part of their rebuilding efforts after a trophyless season, the club have brought in Ibrahima Konate, Bernardo Silva, Denzel Dumfries and Marc Cucurella.
As a result, several players are expected to leave the “Santiago Bernabeu”, while among the names rumored to be leaving are Eduardo Camavinga, Rodrygo, Franco Mastantuono, Fran Garcia and Raul Asencio.
The future of midfielder Dani Ceballos, whose contract expires in just one year, also remains unclear. The Spaniard has made over 200 appearances for Real Madrid, but in recent years has largely played a supporting role in the team, having returned from a two-year loan at Arsenal.
According to Mundo Deportivo , Ceballos’ desire is to return to his former club, Real Betis, and he has even proposed to forgo the final year of his contract to leave as a free agent.
However, Real Madrid’s management does not agree with this scenario. The Spanish club wants to benefit financially from his departure and has no intention of letting him leave without compensation.
Real Madrid are targeting three big names for the midfield
The report adds that Real Madrid value Ceballos at around €8 million and believe the 29-year-old midfielder continues to have significant value on the market.
On the other hand, Real Betis is not willing to pay the amount requested by the Madrid team, which could make Ceballos’ long-awaited return to the Andalusian club difficult, unless the parties reach an agreement.
In addition to Betis, Dutch giant Ajax has also shown strong interest in the Spaniard, who are said to be close to reaching an agreement with a value similar to what Real Madrid are seeking.
