As the summers are very hot in Qatar, the World Cup will be held in this country in the fall, from November 20 to December 18.

The Lusail Iconic Stadium is the largest of the eight stadiums that will host the World Cup in Qatar and is scheduled to host ten matches.

A little more than two months before the start of the World Cup, something incredible happened in this stadium for such a building.

Namely, on Friday at this stadium in the Lusail Cup, the champions of Saudi Arabia and Egypt, Al Hilal and Zamalek met in front of almost 78,000 fans.

Reports from the game, which was played on Friday, mentioned concession stands without water and fans waiting in long lines. Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal won the match, but the football itself looked second-rate in some reports from the coastal city, reports the English Mirror.

According to ESPN, the water ran out before halftime and fans were unable to enter or exit the stadium. There were reports of fans stuck in queues begging to be let through as the official crowd of 77,575 tried to leave the stand.

The same report quoted a spokesman for the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy as saying that the Lusail match was intended to help organizers identify issues that may need to be addressed before the World Cup.
