Antoine Griezmann was considered one of the best football players in the world a few years ago.
The French footballer played phenomenal football in Atlético Madrid. However, the transfer to Barcelona in 2019 turned out to be a complete failure and Griezmann seemed to lose the magic in his legs.
The Frenchman returned to Atlético last summer. He came on loan with an obligation to buy for 40 million euros, but the Madrid club has no intention of keeping the former star.
Coach Diego Simeone told Griezmann that he does not take him seriously in the new season. He won’t be a starter and will get miserable minutes, if at all.
“The club told him that they don’t count on him and that he is not in the foreground. The club really wants to get rid of him because they are convinced that he will never be the player he was before,” claimed ESPN.
Barcelona and Atlético have agreed a loan deal for Griezmann until the summer of 2023. Then the people of Madrid are obliged to buy it, but there is no way they will do it.
