As things stand now, Cristiano Ronaldo will not be part of the first lineup, which is a big loss for him, but not an unexpected decision by manager Eric Ten Haag, who has been criticizing the Portuguese for several days in a row. Ronaldo has missed almost a month of training and has only played one friendly match so far, one half against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.
In the starting line-up against Brighton is expected to be Anthony Martial who spent last season on loan in Sevilla, but came back and was one of the best in the preparatory period.
