Other startling details have emerged during the trial of Benjamin Mendy, the Manchester City footballer, who has been charged with eight counts of rape, one sexual assault and one attempted rape that allegedly took place between 2018 and 2021.
One of the seven women who accuse the Frenchman of rape testified before the jury that the footballer had boasted to her that he had sex with 10,000 women after he raped her three times and left her bleeding.
“He told me: ‘Don’t tell anyone and you can come here every night.’ As if it were a privilege to have sex with him”, said the 20-year-old.
She accuses Benjamin Mendy of locking her in a room and raping her three times. The victim explained to the jury that she went to the accused’s house in October 2020 after meeting the player in a bar in Alderley Edge.
The 20-year-old revealed that Mendy raped her three times and that the sexual assault, despite her repeatedly telling him she did not want to have sex with him, lasted 15 minutes.
“It was the longest day of my life… My body was tense,” said the whistleblower, who also explained that Benjamin Mendy took her cell phone and locked her in one of the panic rooms the footballer has in his “residence of horrors” and asked him to undress.
“Listen, I want my phone, I don’t know what you think is going on. I don’t want sex with you”, the young woman refused.
“The door is still closed,” answered the Manchester City player.
Benjamin Mendy can be sentenced from 5 to 20 years in prison, but the possibility of receiving the maximum sentence: life imprisonment is not excluded.
