England and Germany ended the Nations League match with a spectacular 3-3 draw, while at the “Three Lions” Harry Maguire, as usual in these last challenges, ended up under accusation. The Manchester United defender created the penalty which was converted into a goal by Gundogan as he was spectacularly dribbled by Musiala. However, at Maguire’s side, team-mates emerge, above all Harry Kane and Luke Shaw. The forward praised Maguire for the sacrifice after revealing the defender played injured in the final minutes.
“In every mistake a footballer makes, he is immediately criticized, but we are a team and we protect each other. I’m sure Maguire, but also Pope will learn from mistakes. They have been amazing from the moment they put on this shirt. I have to say Maguire picked up an injury at the end and for five or 10 minutes he played with one leg. He showed a lot of character and I’m proud of him,” said Kane.
Shaw, meanwhile, added that his United team-mate is getting hit more than he deserves.
“Harry is a great player but also a person of great character. I have the impression that they are hitting him more than they should. But, he never hides and is always present. Other people could have chosen to hide, but he remains in the center of attention. We all know that he is an exceptional player, but confidence cannot normally be high for him at these moments as it seems as if he has the whole world against him”, said shaw
