Manchester United beat Tottenham 2:0 on Wednesday night, and Cristiano Ronaldo did not play.

The Portuguese was visibly disappointed with Eric ten Haag’s decision, so in the 87th minute he went to the dressing room and then left the stadium, which of course raised a lot of dust, and the United manager later said that it was not right and that it would be dealt with discussed later.

This was a definite lack of respect for both the coach and the club that made him the best player in the world and gave him so much.

His former teammate Rio Ferdinand, however, is trying to find a logical justification why Ronaldo did not get a chance in this derby.

“The only reason I see him not playing is that the manager planned to spare him for Chelsea. I see that. I didn’t expect anything less from him after all, honestly”, said Ferdinand.

He also said that the club should let Cristiano Ronaldo go if they don’t count on him.

“If he doesn’t see him as a starter or at least as a man who should contribute, the coach and the club have to let him go. It’s not fair to him. It’s not fair to anyone. United won 2-0, they played well, and the topic of the game is why Cristiano is not playing. It will be like that after every game,” says the Englishman.
