As one of Manchester United’s legends, Rio Ferdinand has no respect for Liverpool, or so it seems.
Liverpool opened the new season in the Premier League with a visit to Craven Cottage where they played 2:2 with the new Premier League Fulham.
Aleksandar Mitrovic hit the back of the net twice for the Reds, who fell behind twice, eventually avoiding defeat with goals from Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez.
Definitely a bad start for Liverpool, who were absolute favorites but immediately ran into trouble, while in London they were delighted with the way they opened their comeback season in the top flight.
Ferdinand, as part of the professional team of BT Sport, stayed at Craven Cottage and before the match, he took pictures with the fans and signed autographs.
But the Manchester United legend politely refused to sign the shirt of a Liverpool fan.
Ferdinand recorded the exchange and posted the footage on social media. A fan is heard asking the former England international: “Can you sign this?”, to which he replied: “You just asked me to sign a Liverpool shirt, are you crazy?”.
“I can’t, I can’t sign Liverpool shirts,” added Ferdinand.
