Bellingham’s reputation has grown in the last two years at Dortmund and now he is also being considered a key member of the England team, with the World Cup around the corner.

Such is his talent, skill and maturity, at just 19, that Dortmund named him captain for the weekend’s match against Cologne in the Bundesliga.

They did the same this Wednesday in the Champions League, where coach Edin Terzic once again handed the armband to the former Birmingham City youngster, as they faced Sevilla.
It’s clear the extra responsibility didn’t weigh too much on the teenager as he assisted the first goal of the evening and then scored the second himself.
After assisting Raphael Guerreiro for the opener, Bellingham scored a beautiful goal after some sensational individual play.
Bellginham showed his good ball skills by making a perfect run and avoiding defenders well on the left side of the area, and after breaking through he sent the ball into the far corner of the goal.
In addition to his goal and assist, Bellingham broke several Champions League records, although they were not at the level of Lionel Messi who scored against his 40 opponents in the competition.
The midfielder became the youngest English player to captain a side in Europe’s elite club competition and also became the first teenage midfielder to score in three consecutive games.

In fact, previously the only teenager to have scored in the first three games of a Champions League season was Erling Haaland, in the 2019/20 season.
