“We are devastated by the death of athletic coach Gian Piero Ventrone. He will be missed by all of us at the club. Our thoughts go out to his family and friends at this very sad moment,” the English club wrote on social media.

Ventrone was part of Juventus in the years 1994-2004, he tried an adventure as a second coach in France at Ajaccio, while as an athletic trainer he also worked at Catania and in China (Suning and GZ Evergrande).

Conte took it with him to England when he signed for Tottenham, as the Italian has decided to cancel his press conference ahead of Saturday’s clash with De Zerbi’s Brighton.

Ventrone was known for his “military” motos and high physical loads. Footage of stars Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min in the warm-up phase, with the two forwards physically exhausted from intense training, went viral, with the captain wailing on the pitch.
