The Cádiz fan who fell ill in the stands at the Cádiz stadium has finally been taken to hospital. The Cadiz-Barcelona match was interrupted for more than half an hour, because the fight for life of the man who got heart problems was going on in the stands.
Cádiz goalkeeper Ledesma was the first to react after running across the field and asked the medics for a defibrillator and immediately sent him to the stands where the fan who needed help was.
Sufficient space was immediately made in the tribune so that the doctors could help without hindrance. Even the rest of the fans helped in any way they could. The stretchers that were needed for the fan who needed help were brought literally hand to hand to the fans.
It remains to be hoped that the man will win this most important battle and that he will be able to enjoy the football championships again.
