Kostas Manolas is now officially a footballer of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. The former Olympiakos defender signed a two-year contract with the Dubai club.
His new club Sharjah introduced him as an ancient Greek warrior with a shield on the team’s social media! “A Greek fighter in our team. We welcome the Greek defender of Olympiakos who has signed for the next two years”, the announcement states.
After the official announcement, the team from the United Arab Emirates organized a photo session and video with the Greek defender that included a real lion!
The shooting took place in a football stadium with the lion tied to a small pole just a few meters away from the former Roma and Napoli player.
The “King of the Jungle” may have been calm during most of the photo shoot, but at one point he suddenly let out a loud roar that made Manolas jump back in fear.
Kostas Manolas will receive 4.5 million euros for the two years he will stay in the United Arab Emirates.
